Bryzgalov has been claimed off waivers by the Coyotes, reports TSN. The team wasted no time putting their new player to work, starting him in this afternoon's contest against the Kings. Bryzgalov's addition causes a bit of a logjam at the goalie position in Phoenix as they now have four fairly evenly matched netminders with Bryzgalov joining Alex Auld and Mikael Tellqvist and with David Aebischer toiling in the minors. Bryzgalov is probably the best goalie out of the bunch and he definitely has the most upside so if you simply must own a Coyotes goalie in your pool or league, make sure it's him.

Unable to trade him all season, the Ducks placed Bryzgalov on waivers yesterday, reports TSN. GM Brian Burke tried dealing Bryzgalov up until Thursday but there were surprisingly no takers despite Bryzgalov's strong reputation. The goalie's fate will be known later this morning but the expectation from us is that he will surely be snatched up by a team looking for anything from a starter to depth. Keep your eye on this situation as Bryzgalov could suddenly have fantasy value depending on where he ultimately ends up.
