Phoenix Coyotes

Daniel Carcillo

Holy Carcillo, Batman! This is what I love about PIM producers in fantasy. If their team is having an awful game, players like Carcillo can still have one of their best. Tonight, Phoenix was smoked 6-1, but Daniel took out his frustration to a category winning 23 penalty minutes! He already has 130 PIM with a solid 11 points to keep him from hurting you on offense. I don't know if his value could be any higher.

Alex Auld

With the arrival of Ilya Bryzgalov, Auld cleared waivers and will report to the Coyotes minor league affiliate team, reports the Arizona Republic. David Aebischer, who was exiled to the same team earlier in the year, will move on to Europe to play the rest of the year there in order to make room for Auld. With Auld now just a small blip on the radar and Aebischer completely off it, the Coyotes goaltending situation has stabilized. Bryzgalov will see the lion's share of icetime with Mikael Tellqvist serving as the backup.

Ilya Bryzgalov

Bryzgalov has been claimed off waivers by the Coyotes, reports TSN. The team wasted no time putting their new player to work, starting him in this afternoon's contest against the Kings. Bryzgalov's addition causes a bit of a logjam at the goalie position in Phoenix as they now have four fairly evenly matched netminders with Bryzgalov joining Alex Auld and Mikael Tellqvist and with David Aebischer toiling in the minors. Bryzgalov is probably the best goalie out of the bunch and he definitely has the most upside so if you simply must own a Coyotes goalie in your pool or league, make sure it's him.

Alex Auld

Auld allowed four goals on only 28 shots in a loss to the Sharks on Saturday, reports the AP. His play has been less than stellar as of late which does not bode well for him or his fantasy owners as Mikael Tellqvist has been playing much better and is probably beginning to gain the upper hand as far as becoming the full fledged starter is concerned. Regardless, both Coyotes goalies are only useful in fantasy leagues for depth or insurance purposes.

David Aebischer

Aebischer is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets, reports the Arizona Republic. Mikael Tellqvist started the team's first two games with Alex Auld backing up. While coach Wayne Gretzky indicated that Auld is deserving of a start, he also stated that he'd like to draw from Aebischer's experience. GM Don Maloney said that the team is monitoring the three goalie situation and that in a few weeks time, they will make a decision on which two to keep and which one to boot out. We've said it before and we'll say it again - stay away.

David Aebischer

Coach Wayne Gretzky has decided to carry three goaltenders to start the season, reports the Arizona Republic. Aebischer will be joined by Mikael Tellqvist and Alex Auld though it is not clear which of the three will start the season as the team's #1 goalie. Considering this uncertainty and the fact that the Coyotes may very well be the worst team in the league this year, this is one goaltending situation that you'll all want to steer clear of.
