Los Angeles Kings

Dan Cloutier

The Kings have recalled goalie Dan Cloutier from the minors and they have also consequently waived goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin to make room on the roster. Not surprisingly, neither goalie was touched when passing through the league's waiver system but the Kings want to give Cloutier one more chance to show that he has the stuff to be a legitimate NHL goalie. He figures to get some action down the stretch and if he gets on nice streak would be trouble for Jason LaBarbera. Aubin had probably the least amount of fantasy value among all NHL goalies and with this news, his value falls even further if that is even possible.

Teddy Purcell

Prospect Update: Teddy put up another two points in Manchester's 7-4 win against Chicago tonight. Purcell again has the lead in the AHL with 34 points... one point ahead of AHL veteran, Martin St. Pierre. The rookie has maintained his place at the top of the leaderboard for so long, he should be getting everyones attention by now. I think St. Pierre will eventually overtake him (99 in 65 last year), but you have to remember Purcell is younger and has better size for cracking the NHL. Another solid prospect, Trevor Lewis, had a hat trick and assist tonight in the game as well. You really have to be excited if your a hockey fan in LA.

Teddy Purcell

Prospect Alert: Meet your AHL points leader! Who? This undrafted youngster has 23 points in only 17 games in his AHL debut this year! He was better than a PPG scorer in only one year with the University of Maine before LA snagged him. Purcell has received zero hype, but having stayed on top of the AHL leader board this long, he definitely deserves some. Keep the talented 22-year-old on your radar!

Jonathan Bernier

Bernier is apparently on his way back to his junior club in the Quebec League, reports TSN. Although he has showed flashes of brilliance, the Kings mediocre play around him as led to some forgettable outings as of late and the team probably feels that it's better to return him to junior hockey than to subject him nightly beatings in the NHL. Jason LaBarbera and the recently activated Jean-Sebastien Aubin will take over starting duties with LaBarbera the favorite for starts.
