Anaheim Ducks

Mathieu Schneider

Schneider is expected back in the Ducks lineup for Wednesday's game against the Stars, reports the LA Times. The oft-injured defenseman has missed the last two games due to a sore hip.

Todd Bertuzzi

The Ducks are anticipating the return of forward Todd Bertuzzi, who appears to be nearly recovered from the symptoms related to the concussion he suffered October 14 against the Wild, reports the LA Times. He has been cleared for full contact and was a participant at Ducks practice yesterday and should accompany the team to Dallas. While Bertuzzi is a shadow of his former self, he can still be a serviceable forward in fantasy leagues once he is completely healthy.

Jonas Hiller

The Bryzgalov move has caused a bit of a chain reaction around fantasy leagues. While all the previous phoenix goalies have probably lost any value they had before (although it wasn't much), Jonas Hiller may now be a viable tender option in deeper keeper leagues. The 24-year-old has been tearing it up in the AHL. He is young, talented and backing up for the defending champs! Giguere is definitely no iron man either, so grab Hiller in goalie-thin leagues, and hope he can become the next Bryzgalov or Biron.

Ilya Bryzgalov

Unable to trade him all season, the Ducks placed Bryzgalov on waivers yesterday, reports TSN. GM Brian Burke tried dealing Bryzgalov up until Thursday but there were surprisingly no takers despite Bryzgalov's strong reputation. The goalie's fate will be known later this morning but the expectation from us is that he will surely be snatched up by a team looking for anything from a starter to depth. Keep your eye on this situation as Bryzgalov could suddenly have fantasy value depending on where he ultimately ends up.

Mathieu Schneider

Schneider will make his debut in Thursday's home game against the Blue Jackets, reports the LA Times. Signed as a potential replacement for Scott Niedermayer, Schneider broke a bone in his ankle almost two months and has yet to see any action during the regular season. While he's almost pushing 40, Schneider still has the offensive tools to be an instant contributor in fantasy leagues but unfortunately, he's quite prone to injury.

Mathieu Schneider

Schneider took part in a majority of the drills as he participated in his first practice since breaking a bone in his left ankle on September 15, reports the LA Times. He's probably still at least a week away from returning to regular action assuming there are no setbacks.

Mathieu Schneider

Schneider, sidelined since the exhibition season because of a broken ankle, has stepped up rehabilitation but a return date is uncertain, reports the LA Times. Continue to hold onto the injury prone defenseman as he's still a premier offensive threat from the blueline.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere

Giguere went through another full practice without any complications but stopped short of saying that he was ready for tonight's game against the Wild, reports the LA Times. He said he wants to play but at this point of the season, erring on the side of caution may be the smart thing to do. Either way, it appears as if he will be good to go for next week so get ready to activate him in all leagues as he will take over starting duties almost immediately.

Todd Bertuzzi

Bertuzzi is questionable for tonight's home opener against the Bruins because of a strained groin suffered in last week's loss to Columbus, reports the LA Times. He said the groin continued to bother him during Saturday's game against the Penguins which is probably why he received only 14 minutes of ice time. The veteran power forward has only two points in five games this season and is looking more and more like a shadow of his former self.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere

Giguere, recovering from hernia surgery, practiced again on Monday and is set to return to the Ducks lineup, reports the LA Times. It is not yet clear whether he will be activated for Wednesday's game against the Bruins, but chances are high that he will be back in net by the weekend and will takeover starting duties for good soon thereafter. Ilya Bryzgalov and Jonas Hiller will both pretty much be rendered useless at that point.
