Minnesota Wild

Pierre-Marc Bouchard

With another two points so far tonight, PM is back on track with 14 points in his last 10 games. This may be a sign that Bouchard is finally breaking out, on his way to exceeding 70 points. This may also be just another streak to be followed by a slump... which Bouchard has been known to do throughout his young career. I don't see Bouchard getting out of Minny anytime soon, so I'd go ahead and trade him high and let someone else wait for that day to happen. When it does, he should be good for near 80 points, however.

Pavol Demitra

Demitra will return to the Wild lineup for Wednesday's game against the Coyotes, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He has missed 13 of the last 15 games with a troublesome groin but has practiced the last few days without any discomfort.

Marian Gaborik

Gaborik is set to return to the Wild lineup for Thursday's game against the Oilers, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He's been in and out of the lineup this year with a recurring groin injury but has practiced without incident the last two days. Get Gaborik back into your lineup as soon as possible but keep in mind that another (groin) injury may just be around the corner.

Pavol Demitra

Demitra continues to struggle with a groin injury and will not play Sunday against the Avalanche, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. In fact, the Wild don't expect him back for another week and there's a growing sense that the injury could actually be more serious than the team is letting on. This injury bit shouldn't come as too much of a surprise for anyone who plays fantasy hockey as Demitra is one of the most injury prone players around.

Marian Gaborik

Gaborik went through a full practice as he recovers from yet another groin injury, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. His status for tomorrow's game will be determined after the morning skate but the good news is that his return - if it doesn't happen tonight - is imminent for next week.

Marian Gaborik

Gaborik is back on the sidelines with a groin injury, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The speedy winger missed Monday's game against the Oilers and is listed as day-to-day. Not surprisingly, his linemate Pavol Demitra also missed the contest with a groin injury. Fantasy owners know the drill here: both players are dynamic when healthy and playing together but it's a huge challenge to keep them on the ice or in fantasy lineups for the duration of the season.

Marian Gaborik

Gaborik is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the Blues, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The speedy winger has missed the last two games due to a groin injury but went through a full practice and more on Wednesday. It's excellent news that Gaborik is poised to return after such a short layoff as he's had a troubled past with groin injuries which has on occasion led to him missing several weeks of action. Linemate and countryman Pavol Demitra is also recovered from a similar injury and should be in the lineup as well.

Marian Gaborik

Gaborik will miss Sunday's game against the Avalanche due to a groin injury, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Both Gaborik and the Wild are downplaying the severity of the injury but anytime the words "Gaborik" and "groin" are mentioned in the same sentence, red flags should be raised. Fantasy leaguers only have one option right now: reserve the speedy forward and hope that he isn't sidelined that long. Gaborik's linemate, Pavol Demitra, will also miss the contest with a similar injury.

Niklas Backstrom

Backstrom will not dress for Sunday's game against the Avalanche due to a minor groin injury, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The standout goalie was injured during Saturday's practice but doesn't feel as if he will sidelined for that long. Groin injuries can be troublesome for goalies so the Wild have recalled Nolan Schaefer to serve as Josh Harding's backup. As for next week, Harding and Backstrom both make tricky plays in fantasy leagues due to the uncertainty surrounding this situation. In weekly leagues, we'd reserve them both but daily leaguers should log onto our website every day to see who will be starting.

Brent Burns

He plays for a dominant team. He's only 22 and plays nearly 25 minutes a game. He has a cannon. He projects to have a season of 35 goals, 46 points, and 115 PIMs... with a plus-70!!! Does that get your attention? His name is Brent Burns, and you better know him. Tonight, the former forward rifled a shot under the crossbar on one of several beautiful Wild passing plays. Minnesota looked better than ever against a Blues club coming off 4 straight wins. With the Wild, you can count on a fabulous +/- for Mr. Burns. Realistically, expect near 20 goals, 35 points, 100 PIMs and a plus-30. Right now, Burns is on fire... but in a keeper, Burns seems to be gold!
