Submitted by Hockeyinformer on February 8, 2008 - 2:04am.The Canucks, Avalanche and Flyers remain in the Forsberg sweepstakes, reports the AP. The center's agent has already notified Detroit, San Jose, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Calgary and Dallas that Forsberg is not interested in joining those clubs. The Canucks are probably still in the running because Forsberg would like to play with longtime friend Markus Naslund and probably the Sedins as well while the Avs and Flyers are at the top of the list due to Forsberg already play there earlier in his career. It remains to be seen how much Forsberg has left in the tank but it's still worth stashing him at the end of your bench just in case things work out.

Forsberg said he wants to wait until he is 100% before making any decisions. If you have an extra spot or two at the end of your fantasy team's bench, consider stashing him away in case he comes back just in time for the playoffs.

The veteran center was not in good spirits afterwards, saying that it's a "dark day" and very possible that he may retire. His future is dependent on the severity of the ankle injury as a quick fix would motivate him to give it one last try but anything that requires surgery would most likely lead to retirement.
