Jason Spezza

Spezza participated in a full practice on Wednesday and is expected back in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Sabres, reports TSN. He has missed the last six games with a nagging groin injury but will be back on the top line between Daniel Alfredsson and Dany Heatley. Normally, we recommend waiting at least a game to get an injured player back in your lineup, but in this case we would suggest that Spezza be activated immediately.

Jason Spezza

Spezza did not practice on Friday, reports the official Senators website. He's still struggling with a groin injury and will miss his sixth straight game Saturday against the Canadiens. The hope now is that Spezza will be able to return Monday against the Sabres but this presents a tricky situation for any of his fantasy owners who are in weekly lineup change leagues.

Jason Spezza

Spezza will miss Tuesday's game against the Maple Leafs due to a groin injury, reports the official Senators website. It will be the third straight game that the play-making center will miss as he also admitted that the injury is taking longer to recover from than he anticipated. Keep Spezza reserved and hope that he's able to return by the weekend.

Peter Forsberg

Forsberg left practice early on Monday after experiencing ankle soreness, reports TSN. The veteran center was not in good spirits afterwards, saying that it's a "dark day" and very possible that he may retire. His future is dependent on the severity of the ankle injury as a quick fix would motivate him to give it one last try but anything that requires surgery would most likely lead to retirement.

Patrice Bergeron

GM Peter Chiarelli updated the media on the condition of Bergeron saying that he is still in "pretty rough shape" and can't talk for more than two or three minutes. He also added that Bergeron has trouble sleeping and is still wearing a collar while acknowledging for the first time that the center may one month, two months or the entire season.

Patrice Bergeron

Bergeron may be sidelined for a month or more, reports the Boston Globe. He has been diagnosed with a grade 3 concussion - the most severe type - and is basically resting at home with a severe headache and a very stiff neck. In fact, Bergeron apparently felt worse on Monday than he did on Sunday after being released from the hospital but this is considered normal for individuals recovering from concussions. While Bergeron may never be the same player after this hit, we'd suggest reserving him in fantasy leagues rather than cutting him outright.

Patrice Bergeron

Bergeron was hit from behind by the Flyers' Randy Jones on Saturday and remained unconscious on the ice for several minutes, reports the AP. Miraculously, Bergeron survived with only a broke nose and a concussion as initial X-rays and a CT scan showed no serious damage to either his neck or head. While it is almost assured that Bergeron will sidelined for at least a week due to the injuries, at least his season and more importantly, his career were not jeopardized.

Ryan Kesler

Could this be a 4th season breakout? Last night, Kesler potted 2 goals (one empty net) and now has points in his last 3 games. He has 6 points in 8 games, and accomplished that while getting a Boulerice cross-check to the face earlier this season. Now, we are not talking about an 80-point breakout here, but 50 points is possible. Ryan is still only 23, and he's receiving big minutes. In deeper leagues, you may want to take a chance on the former first-rounder.

Marc Savard

Savard, out with a groin strain, didn't practice for the second straight day, reports the Boston Globe. He will almost surely not play tonight against the Ducks but coach Claude Julien wouldn't completely rule him out - only saying that he is day-to-day.

Sidney Crosby

Crosby returned to practice today after missing a session on Monday with a bruised right foot, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Crosby was injured when he blocked a shot against Anaheim on Saturday but is expected to play against the Canadiens on Wednesday. He's not too bad of a player so you might want him in your lineup.
