Detroit Red Wings
Henrik Zetterberg
Submitted by Hockeyinformer.com on January 2, 2008 - 2:18am.Zetterberg practiced this week and is on target to return for Wednesday's game against the Stars, reports the Detroit News. He has missed the last four games due to back spasms but appears to be healthy and should challenge for the scoring lead from here on out provided he can avoid any more absences.
Daniel Cleary
Submitted by J Status on December 22, 2007 - 11:17pm.Cleary had a goal, assist and a team leading eight shots tonight. He lead the Red Wings in a 51-shot barrage against Minnesota... without Holmstrom or 50-point Zetterberg on the ice. Daniel Cleary is showing last season's contributions were no fluke. Finally, all his promise as a youngster is shining through. Cleary looks to be solidifying himself as a 50-point player in the NHL.
Jiri Hudler
Submitted by J Status on December 9, 2007 - 9:37pm.Jiri contributed another three points for his fantasy owners tonight. Hudler has now been a point-per-game player for well over a month. I would value him as such. He will not only continue to produce, but his +/- should also be good playing for the NHL's best team. The chance to get this rising star at a discount has probably passed, but it wouldn't hurt to inquire just in case. It is amazing to think how dirt cheap this player was just a few months ago. He started off the season with only 1 point in his first 8 games and only 3 in his first 13. Since then, 17 points in 16 games.
Dominik Hasek
Submitted by Hockeyinformer on November 7, 2007 - 1:43am.Hasek has recovered from his hip injury and will start Friday against the Blue Jackets, reports the Detroit News. Chris Osgood, the starter for Wednesday's game against the Predators, has been one of the league's best goalies in Hasek's absence and at the very least, has guaranteed himself more playing time over the rest of the season. With Hasek healthy, Osgood makes a good third goalie in fantasy leagues but if/when Hasek is sidelined, Osgood becomes a top-10 goalie in most leagues.
Dominik Hasek
Submitted by Hockeyinformer.com on October 29, 2007 - 11:11pm.Hasek hopes to begin skating later this week, reports the Detroit News. Bothered by a strained hip, the veteran goalie is targeting either Tuesday or Wednesday and definitely before the Wings' current road trip ends on Thursday. Hasek also admitted that the hip had been bothering him for about a week before he was pulled from the lineup but said that he was eager to get on the ice so he can "feel better" about himself. Chris Osgood has filled in admirably for the injured Hasek so expect the Wings to err on the side of caution.
Dominik Hasek
Submitted by Hockeyinformer.com on October 28, 2007 - 12:51am.Hasek underwent an MRI on his irritated hip on Friday and the results came back clear, reports the Detroit Free Press. While he is with the Wings on their current road trip, he definitely won't be active tonight against the Canucks but could return as early as next week though Tuesday against the Oilers is considered an extreme longshot. Another possibility is that the Wings will simply hold Hasek out until the following week since they have five days off before beginning a homestand. Either way, you'll want Hasek reserved in fantasy leagues until further notice.
Dominik Hasek
Submitted by Hockeyinformer on October 9, 2007 - 11:00pm.Hasek was hit above the kneecap during Monday's game against the Oilers and said that it was still sore Tuesday, reports the Detroit Free Press. He added that his availability for tonight's game against the Flames will be determined by how he feels in the morning. Odds seem to favor that Hasek will sit.
