Garon, Mathieu

Mathieu Garon

Garon stopped 37 of 39 shots to help the Oilers score a big victory over the Flames on Saturday, reports the AP. We originally predicted Garon to start tonight's game but switched on the basis of information via the official Oilers website. As it turns out, Garon did get the call and boy did he deliver. While Dwayne Roloson has played far from poor, Garon's strong play as of late will surely net him more starts and it's quite possible to expect a 60/40 split in Roloson's favor for the rest of the season.

Dwayne Roloson

Roloson will start in approximately 50 games this season with Mathieu Garon starting in the remaining 32, reports the Edmonton Journal. The 37-year old Roloson continues to perform admirably in the latter stages of his career, but it's clear the Oilers are weary of him being able to play a full load hence the reason they went out and got the capable Garon. Roloson is a steady #3 in fantasy leagues whereas Garon should only be drafted for depth purposes.
