hey this is the person who originally brought up luongo, i just wanted to point out that i didn't post that last reply. i'm not here to call names or berate anyone for their opinion, i just don't think luongo is the great goalie he's been made out to be all these years. he's VERY good, certainly a top 10 goalie and has been for a while. vanbiesbrouck is an all time great goalie and he was able to carry an equally bad, if not WORSE florida panthers team to the stanley cup finals on his back. luongo never even took them to the playoffs. he's not a game breaking goalie like a brodeur or a kiprusoff, he's not the sort of goalie that will TAKE your team all the way. i'm sure he could backstop a very good team to success, but so can a lot of goalies in the nhl. just because he put up good numbers on a bad team for a number of years people automatically assume that makes him great. that just makes him look great by comparison, it doesn't mean he can win anything, and that's the name of the game. he still has plenty of time to prove me wrong, and i'll be happy to eat my words if and when luongo takes a team to the stanley cup.
