I may have been willing to slightly agree with you at the beginning of the year...but this is an outlandish claim. All good goalies have good D at some time, but Brodeur has been a model of consistency his entire career. There's a reason he's climbing the records so thoroughly. You take away Brodeur and the success of NJ would be in serious trouble. Of course NJ has had other great players, but every good team needs a good goalie, and Brodeur is among the greats. Considering how pitifully the offense has been in front of him often this year, I don't think Brodeur is particularly slowing down either. He was, is, and continues to be great. Overrated? I think he deserves all the superlatives thrown his way.
